Right well basically passed my driving test on tuesday so have been out and about in the leon giving it a bit of a test only a 1.4 but insurance kills to have more. I know its not a stupidly quick car in a straight line but in my opinion it handles very well although I have noticed that when cornering at around 40-50ish you can start to feel the tyres slip and occasionally you get a bit of squeel was looking really to do handling mods and was looking firstly to do the s3 lower strut but was wondering is it simply a straight bolt on job or do I have to much around to fix it? Also how does the s3 strut make a difference to handling??
many thanks guys:D

Ok, edit your post to remove the middle bit that makes you sound like a stupid boy racer.
To sort your handling, S3 upper and lower braces will help the front end.
The run flats you have are shite for handling, not to mention over prices and a pain in the arse to fit to a rim!.
Get some pennies saver and get yourself some ARB and a decent suspension kit, coilovers if you can afford them!
And slow down!
Try and keep that licence!

its pretty much a bolt on fitment, - you need to get some compression bolts to fit. this info will be on here somewhere.

As for whether it will make any difference, i would say you are unlikely to see any difference to be honest.

But on another note, please take care, its not really recommended to be testing the car as it would appear, particularly so soon after passing your test.

Welcome to the club though :)

Ok cheers guys just to clarify these bends at them speeds arnt tight bends there fairly long ones although did nearly get caught on one which got tight quite quickly. Also tyres in the sig arnt whats on at the moment they are on the alloys at work I have steels on at the moment running 195/60/15 goodyear eagles although they are mud and snow tyres as I got them brand new for free from spare stock of the old sierra 4x4 turbo could the fact the the tyres are speed rated 'H' have anything to do with slipping as the tyres neaver get warm :S
Hmm dont know weather to to the strut or not coilies are bit expensive for me being on a apprentice wage aswell would rather save money for better car in later years.
will the handling improve when I put the new wheels on as they will be 225/45/17 goodyear excellences as used on the volvo v70?
thanks again guys

I would suggest no modifications in your situation. This type of thing will happen because you don't have the experience yet to judge cornering properly. All I can suggest is some tips of my own:

- Put on some good quality tyres. All-round if you can - otherwise definately put the good ones on the rear.

- Always brake in a straight line. Never brake in the corner. This also applies to throttle modulation - remember: slow in, fast out.

- Don't underestimate how quickly a corner can tighten (and braking at this point can put you into a spin).

- Always assume other road users will make a turn, overtake a cyclist, or pull out on you - be ready.

Sorry to sound like an old fart, but I know from my younger brothers petulence and over-eager driving, that writing off two cars isn't something that you want to be doing.

All the best and enjoy!

No I understand you gibbness I think because I've done a fair few track seshions with and without instruction from different people there are many different ways of driving and on the road it has to be a lot more controled not making out like a pretend normal road are a track but on tracks i've always been taught brake before the corner then as your entering the corner acellerate into the corner and I know on roads its not the same as things do come the other way and there are more thing to watch out for. Will have to step back and think im not on a track so drive like I would on one. thanks for all advise guys think im going to drive as a 1.4 should be driven not how you would drive something much better.
cheers

If you get the 17's on it should help, your lowering the profile so it should have less of a sidewall to roll onto, just take it easy, enjoy a bit of fun and save and get a Cupra R!
