Hi, I am new to CUPRA and have had my Terramar a week. I have been struggling with the setting to lower the passenger side mirror to view the kerb when reversing. Just when I think I have sorted it, I find I am driving with permanently lowered or it doesn’t lower like it did the day before.
Is it to do with the position of the switch? I am dreading trying to set it up as a memory position too. Any ideas?

@Kevin Deane - I’m assuming you followed the instructions in the owner’s manual to set the kerbside mirror dipping function (see screen shot below)? If so, then the procedure outlined should work, although be aware that reference in the owner’s manual to selecting position ‘R’ on the mirror adjustment control knob relates to left hand drive vehicles. For right hand drive vehicles, the mirror adjustment control needs to be set to position ‘L’ - i.e. for the door mirror that’s on the left hand side (nearside / kerbside) of the car when setting up the mirror dipping function and when using the function.

With the VW’s I’ve owned that had the dipping kerbside mirror function, I used to leave the mirror adjustment control in the ‘L’ position pretty much all of the time. The only two exceptions were 1) when I needed to use the mirror heating function or 2) to fold the mirrors in to give a little extra clearance when manoeuvring in or out of my garage.

Instructions from the Sept 2024 Terramar owner’s manual below;

It took me several attempts to set the nearside mirror for reversing until I realised I had to keep the adjustment joystick set in the "L" position. It does seem odd that on cold misty morning starts, I can't demist the mirrors and lower it to reverse out of my parking space. Other manufacturers just link the door mirrors to the heated rear screen, which seems sensible.

Yes I am afraid this disjointed feature has been around for a long time on the Seat cars (and I am guessing VW As well).
You can only have a heated mirror or mirror drop,

Yes, I can confirm VW use the same mirror adjustment control and have done for many years; you can have either the heating or dipping kerbside function but not both at the same time.

IMHO it’s a piece of equipment that’s long overdue a redesign. As @Mark154 has said, the system used by other manufacturers seems more sensible.

Further to the oddity of the mirror controls, I've just read the manual and it says the heating element for the exterior mirrors doesn't turn off unless the joystick control is moved. I would suggest this is another valid reason to link the exterior mirrors to the heated rear screen.

As this is my first Cupra and actually my first VAG based vehicle, can someone advise as to whether the manufacturer is responsive to suggestions and is there a forum for making them ?
