I have done a search and nothing has come up.

My accelerator pedal sits much lower than my clutch and brake pedal (both of which sit at even height)

I adjusted the pedal using the white adjuster nob thingy, that brought the height up but it was pointless as it would still react to the same amount of depression as before.

E.g: It is at full open throttle waay before the pedal reaches the floor - therefore wierd to drive etc.

Is this normal? - is there any way i can adjust the pedal height then adjust the throttle body in some manner so that full open throttle is at the floor rather than 1/3rd of the way down? - If you can imagine the last 2/3rds of your pedal travel doing nothing at all its quite annoying so i adjusted it back so the pedal sits near the floor again now.

Any help appreciated,

Rick

I dont think you can change it as they are drive by wire, so no adjustment on throttle body ect. On mine (TDi) the accelerator pedal is lower down than the other two. I find its like that on most cars.

the accelerator pedal sits lower than the break, and the break sits lower than the clutch.

reason being that it aids in a 'panic' situation where you have to hit the breaks and clutch... its the 2 highest things on the pedal box so you hit break and clutch first.

and the ecu on our cars stop us from heel toeing because it senses your breaking and still accelerating so it cuts all power as a safety feature thinking that the driver have just hit the breaks and the accelerator at the same time by accident.

hope my ramble helped :)

Really? i never knew this.

I still manage to heel and toe my cupra pretty well [B)]

Oh an yes, my accelerator pedal sits lower then the rest, everyone who drives my car finds the accelerator sensitive as its DBW.

yup ecu stops you braking and putting the power down at the same time, just cuts the power.

guess so, best way to find out would be stationary with foot on brake and see if you can rev it  that way you'll know if it works
