Hi Guys.

Just got my emails and on one of the groupon emails is an offer from "performance blue" in manchester.

They are offering a remap for £169.

Very cheap but does anyone know of them or has anyone been remapped by them?

I am currently looking at doing a remap for my cupra 180 and this does seem very tempting although i am still leaning towards going down a known tuners route as in R*ech just to be sure.

Any thoughts???

I personally wouldn't skrimp on a remap and would take mine to a well known tuner. The consequences from a sh1t map could be quite bad.

At the end of the day though, its your car.

Yeah that one made me laugh too...maybe they have to stretch further to reach the pluggin port which of course would cost more..lol

and of course they fully check the car before installing any old map, running before and after tests with logging and dyno, smoke testing before they just slap on the map and take ya money. ;)

yea, sure they do

buy cheap... and all that..

Even the proper branded maps can be wrong. Mines going into awesome gti on the 2nd of jan for apr to check mine as Its running very lean. Listen to bill, logs need to be done to ensure your engine is going to run safe.

checks are so important guys..
these cars are old now.. and most have issues, leaky pipes, vac, pcv etc,..... all of which will effect the outcome. unchecked some of these issues do risk the motor.

I know I dont do these checks for the sake of it, but for peace of mind, Mine + customers that alls well and healthy enough to take a mapping session. you would be surprised how many cars I have to fix or send away to be fixed that come "just for remaps"

laptop flash and go merchants have no idea what they are installing, and are unlikely to have the experience or equipment to do the checks advised. they have bought themselves a flash tool and buy in a file from a supplier.. stick it in, and at best do some logs afterwards.. cheap they are.. and you can see why.

your call, your money, and of course your Car.

good luck.

Apparently these guys have over 20 years experience in remapping cars thats why i wondered if anyone had heard of them before. I totally agree that the car must be thoroughly checked before a map is installed and my opinion is the same as most and i would much prefer to have a remap done once the car has been checked and that they know what they are doing.

I spoke to the guy today and he said that they usually charge £380 for there remap and they do several checks and vagcom before they install the map.

He didnt however say what checks they do.

They do sound like they know what they are doing and they have been doing it a long time but another thing that also puts me off is that they are not a Seat expert.
They do remaps on all sorts of cars low and high end and he said that they do lots a leon's.

They have 2 units 1 in manchester and 1 in macclesfield.

The way i see it is if no-one has been remapped by them before on here then i have no feedback to go with so it will be a no. I am in no rush to get a remap and it will be the right place when i do or at least i will try and get the right place...lol

Thats why i wanted the ask the question i feel that people's previous experience with remaps is very important. At the moment it looks like no-one has heard of these guys.
