I've searched, but can't find anything.. Is there a guide to refurb & 'brighten' up the MK2 leon Cupra calipers? Mine are a bit pink lol.. I had a Cupra R 225 (BAM) with Brembos & know there is a guide for those.
Any ideas? And what will I need to do it? Cheers guys
I was thinking about fine grit sandpaper, flatten them a bit, then try re laquering them (like the brembos on LCR 225's) But I don't think they are lacquered to begin with are they?

I did this on mine
The seat paint quality on the Cupra brakes is shocking , I used high grit grade cleaned , then masked up and sprayed with 4 coats of high temperature engine laquer and the deep red came back to life.
I've bought some Hammerite spray, red, used it for years on calipers, never had any issues! And also got some high temp laquer.. Just need to wait for a bit better weather lol!!
Ahhh ok.. Nice one. Cheers. U reckon if I just flatten them & re laquer them like u did, they'll be ok? I think I'll try that first before using the Hammerite!
The paint on them isn't lacquered, so any strong wheel cleaners will lift the colour and make them pink.
Get the wheels off, clean the calipers, then get into them with some good polish and wax. Its easy to do. Just watch what you use on them after that, and give them another polish every so often.
If you give the wheels a good clean while they're off, all you'll every need to uses is a stronger shampoo solution in a spray bottle to loosen the dirty before cleaning. If you let them get really dirty again, you might need something stronger on the wheels.
Ahhhh that explains it when I used thinners on them when I first got the car lol (got the car, took wheels off, scrubbed & I mean SCRUBBED the wheels (even used fine sandpaper on insides!!) as they were filthy!! Then used thinners on calipers as they had never been cleaned!!)
So just some Autoglym super resin or something??
Honestly I don't have a 'preferred' wheel cleaner.. Can u recommend one?
