Are these 2 similar products and would just need to use the one?

I have just bought some AG HD Wax and was wondering what would be the best polish to go underneath it?

I would say that the Blackholes is better for darker cars because it provides a good glaze and reduces swirl marks. But I found claying the car then using poorboys 2.5 polish and then meguiars ultimate compund then SRP worked better for me then i use HD Wax and Carlack68 Sealant each polish applied by hand. That is what works best for me and gives me a great finish. I used a machine to apply Poorboys 2.5 is worked it into paintwork better. :)

you wouldnt need a polish to go under HD wax mate, if you want to remove swirls etc you should be having it machined ideally, if the paint is fine then just use a body sealant first then the Hd wax. Google Inspired automotive smart skin to get an idea of what a sealant is.

Super resin polish would be fine as will black hole. Maybe try the HD cleanser to prep for the wax if not polishing.

I wouldnt put wax on a car that hasnt been DEEP cleaned e.g. bug splats etc etc as the wax wont last long. SRP also has good cleaning capabilities.

most waxes will be fine on a car without a base, your right about cleaning a clear coat properly but if you apply a wax over black hole it wont last as long due to the sealant within black hole itself. Super resin polish would be a good base however.

this is from 20 years experience in the market and actually making the chemicals.
