pop from engine

hi all

can any1 help me out here i drive a seat leon stylance 1.9 tdi 55 plate. i have just been drivig on the motoray prob doing bout 80-90 mph and then i hear some kind of popping noise and when i put my foot on the accellerator there is no power in it and i cant get any pull in it. also when i put my foot down it seems to rev alot louder.

does anybody know what has happened??

Is it also black smoking alot as it sounds like one of the boost/turbo pipes has split or come out of its fixing

Sounds like its popped an intercooler pipe

no not noticed much black smoke but it is dark outside but will look tomorrow cheers guys.

i just had a look to see if it smoking black and it is not smoking but have noticed oil leaking on the drivers side at the front of the engine but cant see where the leak is coming from. do u think this will still be the turbo/boost pipes??

nah its guna be worse than that boost pipes only have the compressed air from the turbo

could be seal on turbo pipe when they fail it sprays oil out of the joint check all turbo pipes near oil leak

Yeah my money is on the turbo boost pipe to the intercooler. They say that there is not ment to be oil in them, just air, but all diesel VAG range cars leak oil from the intercooler pipe seals. Il bet its just split the pipe.

I had to drive a VW eos 2.0tdi 15 miles with no boost pipes on at all. It was in limp mode and didnt go past 30 lol but it was okay to drive yeah. But yes, you want to just check your oil and dont be too heavy on the throttle and you should be okay as long as its no motorway job.
