Possible Newbie :)

Hi all

Thought i'd pop in and say hi a friend of mine has a X Reg Ibiza Cupra that has an issue with the front passenger wheel/drive shaft. Hes offered it to me cheap (£200) and thought id see if it is a good deal and/or an easy fix before i buy

Would love to buy it as a little fast road/track car its not the tidiest car in the world but its got potential i feel and it runs sweet as a nut

Welcome!! Id say at 200 theres either something seriously wrong or an incredibly good deal. Does it have mot? I say buy it mate, its only 200 which you could get back very easily

I dont think theres to much wrong, its moveable just somethings gone on the passenger side drive! its a close mate of mine who at the time was only using it as a run around, he parked it up (when it broke) and bought a cheaper run around and has since been made redundant so its sat behind his garage in the way and he wants it gone.

I suspect CV joint maybe but not had a proper look, are there any common faults to look out for?

i have some pictures of it but need to up post count i believe dont i

My daily driver is a D40 Navara, fancy the cupra as a toy to play with as soon as i pass my B+E Test (next friday) i can hopefully pick it up

They are definately good toys with the right mods but slow as sh*t standard haha. Up your post count asap and get some photos up dude

Oh and when he bought it he was told it was remapped but he's not sure what or where it was done so we aren't to sure! Does need some paintwork doing (Wings in primer) and laquer peel on the bonnet

It happens mate, my list of things to do went from nearly nothing to about 100 things haha.
Tbf if you buy it for 200, then sort out the noise and paintwork. At very very tops you would have spent 1000, dude thats a mental cheap cupra
If it so happens that the noise comes to a ball joint, trackrod end, wheel bearing etc, id be tempted to do both sides to keep them the same

So when would you get it if you do? Where are you based mate?

Im based in pembrokeshire (west wales) ive gotta speak to her in doors' father first see if i can keep it at theres, no room at mine but they have a small holding with some sheds (and a work shop with 4 post lift ) he can get a bit funny tho lol

that and i am working all this weekend then monday tuesday nights! trailer test thursday friday, VHF course Saturday and back to work for 2 days and 2 nights as of next sunday haha so busy busy busy! provided i pass my trailer test i would like to get it ASAP need summit to potter with

The 4 poster is not the greatest but its very useful only problem being he usually fills the workshop with tractors come the winter to keep them dry lol

Ill be sure to get pictures up as soon as I can I'm in no rush to do things wanna make sure it's all good then set to work

Ovni ones are so common haha. What wheels are they on it? Looks like it wont take much to put it back on the road. What mods does it have?

I can't remember what they are ill have a look when I get it home he did have another set to, will see if I can get them as well, they are pretty common just want a toy and for 180 can't go far wrong

There's a few mods on it but not to sure of everything I know exhaust and a crappy filter are on it and possibly a remap
