Possibly swapping from Boc to Leon Cupra...

I've been quiet on these forums for a while (although obviously I'm normally over in the Ibiza section) the time has come for me to get a slightly bigger and more importantly five door car as there will be a little one joining me and the misses in March :)

I've been searching and searching for a car to replace my boc which i love and will be devastated to see go, i don't want to compromise on looks and performance (obviously this will be a step up) i have had numerous idea lined up and i am restricted financially for obvious reasons. I've stumbled across a couple of Leon cupras with around 60k on the clock but have a few questions!

Firstly i wanted to check if there's any issues i should look out for in particular?

What am i looking at realistically from stage one and what are the recommended accompaniments for stage one?

And although this completely depends on the drivers right foot what is a rough spectrum of mpg you guys are getting standard/ non standard?

Thanks in advance for any tips you guys may have!

Make sure the car has a FSS and the cambelt has been changed. Check the cam follower every service as they are a known issue to failure and will destroy your cam if not checked. Stage is just a remap mate and as above 300 roughly. Stage 2 DP and map should net about 340BHP, can add CAI and upgrade intercooler / twintercooler. Stage 2+ all above and upgraded HPFP should net you 360BHP roughly. Do it mate, these cars are on a waaaaaay different level to the bocs lol.

Hi Splinter26

I came over from having a Candy White Boc for 2 years and bought a 2012 spec FR+ TDi and apart from the slight power drop i don't regret it one bit

Yes i miss the sexy looks of the Boc but the Leon is a better in every way.... The only thing i wish i had done is bought a DSG rather than a manual !!!

But i know now for next time an Auto box is a must

Cheers
Chris

Cheers for the speedy replies guys, really appreciate it! Need to get the ball rolling now on dismantling the mods on my boc and get it ready to move!

Although i won't be able to do much initially i'm looking forward to the potential performance upgrades available! Only problem is every one i find thats spot on is over an 8 hours drive and private so it'd be a couple of days traveling half of which with a rental. Anyone got any experience in car delivery within the UK or a guess as to what i'd be looking at cost wise?

I'm trying to weigh up my options here and could do with some help. If i'm to buy one that is standard i'm trying to work out my budget as to what to do first, the list is as follows:

Remap 400
Wheels 927
Blow off 200
Twintake 403

With the car i'm looking at as it stands that will leave me with £720 although to be honest that may need to be absorbed into the insurance bump a bit.

Don't waste your time with a BOV mate. Nightmare stories about them causing major power loss. Invest in a decent CAI kit rather and if you are going the twintake any how you will get the lovely sound you so desperately crave hehehehehehe.

Alright then in that case i'll stick to a decent intake, whats the verdict here for the best option for CAI?

Anything else i'm missing that's worth investing in, i know the obvious steps would be exhaust, intercooler and stage 2 but if i'm to go this route those will have to wait :(

Which is why you will just buy my car ;) Seriously though. CAI, ITG, neuspeed, forge any of them will be good enough.

Finally swapped out my Boc for a Leon Cupra K1 in black yesterday. Haven't had a decent go with it yet as i've been hectic since i got the keys but so far i'm impressed with the drive and looking forward for the snow to melt lol
