Hi guys, I have had a quick look but found nothing pointing me in the right direction. I'm just looking to top up my power steering fluid...

I have a LCR - 225 - 2005
There is a noise when I turn left and right (grinding type noise)..I'm hoping my levels just need topping up.

My friend gave me some fluid he uses on his golf called "Granville" it says suitable for most types... but no idea if this is safe to use?

Any help appreciated

Thanks for that, sorted !!!

I have just checked my power steering fluid levels and they are at minimum - ive put a tiny bit in and it seems to now be at max when i use the dipstick thing attached to the lid.

I am yet to take it for a drive but cant imagine that small amount would have any effect !?! - now worried the grinding is from elsewhere...

Thanks for the help though! - much appreciated.

It's central hydraulic fluid you need not power steering fluid. The fluid is green not the usual red.

My apologies, no idea there was a difference! Thanks.. I put some in early on but as said I have yet to go out for a drive... This may sound daft but is it a case of putting in and letting it circulate ( for example turning the steering wheel whilst the engine is on) . Or can I just jump in and drive?

If your oil level was really low you just fill it up with the engine running then turn the wheel fton lock to lock a few times that normally bleeds the system. If no bubbles are in the oil reservoir then it's all ok.
