hello, and before i start i know theres been numerous threads on this but i thought id just share my views on it.

I bought the powerflex dog bone bush last week for a meer 20 quid. My mate who is a mechanic fitted it for me, i know some people will say it isnt hard. but hey if theres a ramp to put it on it is soooo much easier. I will warn people though as others have said, the bolts do have a tendancy to snap. 1 of mine snapped clean off but after a soaking in wd40 it came out very easy. Another thing which people may find difficult is once you have put the bush in, the bolt is not long enough due to bush being bigger, so some sort of clamp would make life alot easier when getting the bolt into the thread nut.

So my initial test drive i had mixed feeling about it, yes the car does feel so much better. gear changes are very smooth, and makes a hug difference to acutally putting the power down in 1st and 2nd. so in that respect worth its weight in gold.

now the downisde is there are slightly more vibration within cabin on idle and pulling away. ive only had it on a couple of days and already i think it has subsided a bit. im actually getting to quite like it, but its not to everyones taste. mainly due to the fact the car was so smooth and quite at idle and pulling away to start with.
thankyou for reading and will look forward to hearing your thoughts.

If they make driving it much nicer, do u think id would be able to fit one to my 1.4? or is it a slightly different set up?

Quite interested especially if it makes gear changes smoother.

Did your friend torque it correctly? Or just randomly tighten it? Also, as far as i remember, one bolt is longer than the other, and they should only go one way.

15NM then 90 degrees iirc

Not tight at all!

Mine hardly vibrates whatsoever (on a tdi)

I also have the front bush powerflex too

Maybe the bolt that goes through the bush is too tight,
I loosened mine slightly and there isn't any vibration now at all.

maybe bud, do you have the yellow one? there are no torque settings on the packet

iirc the red bush for tdi are not as harsh as the yellow one for some reason.

it wasnt tighten really that tight just enuf to hold it without coming loose.
but all i know is that it has transformed the way the car puts the power down now.

im not entirely sure what the setup is on a 1.4 but would of thought it would be a similar setup and well worth the upgrade.

For like £20 i think its worth it.

I will check it out and maybe take a pic when i take it over to my mates sometime this week.

Car needs 2 new tyres and a puncture repair aswell as a new middle silencer... not my week :p

Mine vibrated like hell for first 500 miles now only slite throw the steering wheel on idle
I phoned powerflex direct n they said 20nm plus 90 degrease
