Trying to sort my rear brakes.
The PR numbers for brake codes on the white build label are helpfully blank.
Does anyone with a 110hp ASV Tdi SE,
2003 ish know what they are for the rear brakes?

1KK or 1KQ, 38mm puck, (piston)
or
1KP, 41mm puck, (piston)

This will take much of the guesswork out of ordering parts.
Many thanks.

I might be wrong, but I think all non-Cupra R Leons have the same size brakes. I've got the ARL 150 and it doesn't have Brembo brakes, so I'm guessing that's the case.

I've got some pads in my parts box and I've just measured them at 41mm, but if there are any other measurements you need, feel free to ask.

Many thanks for getting the calipers out, apologies for my use of "puck" when I meant "piston"

Due to the relevant page missing in the
http://www.oemepc.com/seat/
website, I thought all Leons had the 41mm dia cylinder,
when I've got 38mm's

The other parts catalogue
https://seat.7zap.com/en/e/leon+leon+4/le/
has both sizes as "normal"
but without the PR codes I wasn't sure whether
mine had been bodged in the past.

Second bit of bodgery,
"genuine" VW lucas pads have a price point of £25 upwards.
"genuine" Peugeot lucas pads have a price point of £16 upwards.
Yup, I was greedy.
Please laugh at my folly when I find that some
subtle difference ensures that they wont fit.

Also needless to say I now am the proud owner of £28 pounds worth of 41mm seals that,
won't fit.

Apologies for my using puck, when I should have said piston, but thanks for calipering.

No problem - I should have just asked what you meant by pucks...!

I've been supposed to be doing my shocks for months now and would have measured the actual pistons when I had the back end off the ground.

Going by the marks on the backs of the pads though, it looks like 38mm would be likely.

Is there any chance of being able to return the seals?

Good on you for going down the repair route though. I had to buy a new caliper last September so fingers crossed I won't have to anyone soon, but a how-to would be amazing. If my bleed nipple threads hadn't completely striped, I'd have definitely been up for that had I known it was possible.

On decent penetrating oil,
years ago I got an unopened can of 1950's gas turbine oil at the recycling center (formerly known as "the dump").
It's the stuff that has been poisoning aircrew for years, as it is organo-phosphate based,
dangerous, toxic, your gonads drop off, hair grows in funny places, and it stinks.
BUT it is magically effective at deseizing rusted up stuff. I think the rust is frightened of it, and runs away.
It also seems to be partially water soluble.
Don't use it, you have been warned.
But my stuck bleed nipples surrendered after only a day.
