Can you help me on this, ive heard people talking about Pre-facelift and Facelift versions of the Ibiza Fr...

How can you tell which from which? I know nothing about Seats so any help is 100% appreciated.

Basically, im getting worried.

I bought a Ibiza Fr petrol from a dealer and its coming on Tuesday, I asked him for a brand new one (which I assume should be a Facelift model) and I got the registration docs in the post. The car was registered on 31st May 2006.

Everything was fine till I read this post.

I bought mine from Uddingston in Scotland, not from Barnsley!

Now I paid £12250 for my car, so im pretty sure it should be a Facelift brand new model, but, how can I tell if it is not? I do think im worrying over nothing but being a Salesman myself, I don't trust Car Salesmen![B)]

you wll spot it a mile off, 17's instead of 16's, opening rear window, different bumpers front and rear, different seat cover, white dials, gear knob different, silver edged Steering wheel, FR boot badge, no side badges, etc etc

When you asked for a brand new one, he could have thought you meant never used, rather than newest release.

Have you paid anything for it yet?

saying that tho mate., my brand new FR 20vt is coming mon/tues to my dealership and its reg'd 31/05/06 but is pre-facelift., one of the last of them. but im sure if you asked for a brand new one and are paying £12250 then its gonna be the facelift.

SEAT are selling the last of the pre-facelift off cheaper since ibiza 06 is now out

as ant said if it has fr logo on the seats and a big silver strip at the bottom of the steering wheel its a face lift one also they now come wqith cupra rear bumpers and the wheels are very different front bumper has no rubbing strips on it either and bigger front grill with honeycombe around the fog lights!

I will first see the car on Tuesday so will know straight away what version it is.

The good thing is that I have not signed anything, or paid any money apart from a £200 deposit so the ball is firmly in my court if anything is iffy.

Will let you know...

if it is the older sape like mine and they were saying its the face lift ask them to change the bumpers to new ones! or the wheels lol make sure you get what you want!

I can't guarantee because I obviously don't know all the ins and outs of it but I'm pretty sure if it was a pre-facelift you are getting they would have made it quite clear. I know they're salesmen but the guys down at Uddingston aren't about to con you. For the amount of money you'll be paying it does really sound like a facelift.
