Hi all

I am planning to get my 2019 2.0tsi dsg estate remapped.
I am looking at a stage 1 which gets me around 245hp
Reading on here there seems to be a lot of talk of removing the precat.

Now, showing my ignorance, is the precat in the downpipe? and is it a case of just removing the precat?
If so what extra gains would that achieve?
Or would I just be better off getting a new downpipe?
with either of these would that be sufficient to get a stage 1.5?
I dont want to lose the main cat.

Sorry for so many questions
Thanks in advance

Not sure on the mk3 platform (I have a mk7 golf r) so I'd be interested to find out

I did a precat delete on my old mk2 leon cupra and it actually unleashed alot of power (ran 276bhp on stock map after)

Generally they are right at the start on the oem down pipe and are easily removed with a hammer a chisel in minute's

Makes a nicer deeper tone aswell
