does top up also mean replace maybe?
I wouldnt have thought so!
I work in the
service industry, and if it says:-
replace - then thats what they will do, and it should be included in the price
check - they will have a look, and if they think it will last (educated guess basically) leave it on
check/replace if necessary - They will look at it, and if they think they can get away with charging you for a new one, fit it and bill you extra
check/top up - check it, and just put in a dash more if it needs it (fluids usually)
scheduled replacement - something that should be replaced at a fixed interval (cambelts = 60k as a matter of precaution) irrespective of condition of old belt.
Unfortunately, due to the state of the economy, people wont give anything away for free...
Dont forget, £400 is a hell of a lot cheaper than the result of a snapped cambelt!
Hope this helps, or at least prepares you for a big bill!
Happy motoring,
Dan
