Looking to pick one of these up second hand, anyone know what to look for as I know there hit and miss?

Want an exhaust manifold for my hybrid set up but not many options out there.

As you've probably become aware, there's virtually sod all in the way of manifold upgrades for these cars which is unreal really considering how long these engines have been made and how many cars use them.
Unfortunately what's on offer is generally shite or as you say, hit or miss.
I have the Relentless Pro4 manifold on mine coupled with a Mamba hybrid K04 turbo and fingers and toes crossed it's held up so far but many people report of them cracking.
Mine came with a donor vehicle but if I was making my own choice and buying I'd opt for a ported chinafold which are more reliable but obviously require more work and expense.

Yes I can’t believe for all the platforms there is next to nothing but I guess most either go BT or aren’t too fussed with the drivability of a hybrid.

I was thinking chinafold but everything I’ve read recently says they have gone down hill again.

I’ve found a Pro4 for £100 but it’s the faff of removing if it’s an issue. I would have thought a good brace would help but again probably not worth the effort and to stick with a cast job.

I will keep on looking I think.

£100 is cheap in all fairness as long as it's definitely not cracked and yeah make sure to retain the turbo support bracket which many people seem to ditch.
It wasn't on mine when I pulled the engine and likely left off due to not lining up properly but with a little tickle with a grinder I made it fit again as when I offered it up it was fouling my oil return pipe.
