PROBLEM - Rear Doors Won't Un/Lock

Hi all,

I am looking for some advice regarding the problem above.

Basically, I noticed the other day the 2 rear passenger doors will not lock or even respond to either the fob or interior switch. I have secured them for now using the emergency lock procedure as detailed in the owners manual for now.

I have done a search and found 1 similar issue on a Mk1 but the only reply was a pi$$take I think... take a wire off each terminal on the battery and touch them together?! WTF

I don't want a 3-door! Help meeee!

Cheers, Greg.

My mates Octy VRS has done the exact same thing on his N/S rear door...on his the solenoids have packed up so hes somehow going to have to try and get the door card off whilst it is locked shut to replace them!

I've scanned the car but nothing shows up?

That doesn't sound good... However it seems a bit strange that both rear doors have the exact same issue!

The boot still works as it should so the signal is reaching that.

Unfortunately the car is a week out of warranty so this could be expensive :(!!!

lock mech fail on these, i need to replace mine. partnumber : It can be 1P0839016 or 016B. available from Dave @sere for £110 delivered each.

put the window down and try opening the door from the inside and the outside at the same time, slam it shut and try to open from the outside. lock it, and try to open again ( will now i guess not unlock ) so above part number required.

UPDATE - I have now came to the conclusion of the fault which is that the car's central electronics module if coded incorrectly.

I discovered this when looking at the MFD and opening the rear door from the inside, the car doesn't realise the door is open and gives you the appropriate display/warning message. Basically the rear doors aren't getting any power what so ever...

Watch this space, hopefully I can remedy this pain in the a$$ issue.

I´ve that issue on my left rear door, lock doesn´t open nor lock...it´s always open.
Electric window doesn´t respond.
Workshop made diag for faulty control unit/window motor...they replaced that...it didn´t work.
Car is going back today to have the doorlock or wiring harness to be changed.

Did you get yours sorted out?

OK, so yesterday they changed new wiring for the door, no luck...
They told me that they tried new door lock...no luck!
Now they raised up their hands and said they cannot do it...F%&&!!!

All the fault memory diag is in finnish, so kind of hard to translate, without "lost in translation".

It must be a coding issue.

For me, I think the fault was caused when I copied a friends Cupra coding onto my 1.9TDI. The Cupra has different modules in the rear doors as my car has wind down windows.

My next step is to find someone with a post 2009 Facelift, the same original spec as mine and recode the entire car to standard and start again.

Jarre if you read this and have access to VCDS/VAGCOM pm me please :D

UPDATE!
So, my car has been at SEAT Service and the electrician did the diag and found that the issue is driver side front door wiringharness.
Driver side door control module, is so called "master" control unit that controls the other doors "slave"units.
So, there is nothing wrong at the rear doors, only wiring issue in front door.
They are going to replace the wiring today and the cost est. was around 500€
(troubleshooting, labor and parts)

I sure hope to get it right this time...finally.

My doors won't unlock via fob, only the drivers side will, i have to open them manually from the inside via lock/unlock button? is this some security feature or have i got a similar problem to this thread?

Have you tried pressing the unlock button twice from the fob...like double click?!
First click opens drivers door, and second click should open the rest of the doors.
