so, my rear door issue could also be a coding fault?

although, its intermittent i would guess not...when i say intermittent, it never works but if i open the door from the inside, slam it, and then open it from the outside it works. lock it via remote, it wont unlock again making me think its mech failure?

Oh dear, i have the exact same problem with rear door doing exactly what yours did. Did you ever sort it out?

I am unable to open the rear right door of my car from outside, the issue with my car is related to a faulty lock. Apparently this issue is quite common with VAG cars. If only the Germans could do electronics like the Japanese :D

Had same problem but with driver door. It locked but could not unlock, do you have the same situation? But for some weeks ago I moved and my car is now stored in a warm garage... After 1.5 week inside all the problems are gone. Now it work everyday even outside when it's cold! :) Moisture I would say...

The issue I had with my car is that the rear door could not be opened from outside, the door could be locked using the central locking but the door could not be opened from outside when the central locking was deactivated. It could be related to moisture, I seem to recall that the rear door could be opened more often in summer but it was very erratic, sometimes it would work sometimes not and the issue was just got worse with time. At the start of winter, the door would not open at all. I removed the lock from the door the other day and I could see that the solenoid was definitely moving but there was a cam and lever that were not moving when the central locking was disabled.

UPDATE!
So, my car has been at SEAT Service and the electrician did the diag and found that the issue is driver side front door wiringharness.
Driver side door control module, is so called "master" control unit that controls the other doors "slave"units.
So, there is nothing wrong at the rear doors, only wiring issue in front door.
They are going to replace the wiring today and the cost est. was around 500€
(troubleshooting, labor and parts)

I sure hope to get it right this time...finally.

Hi lentaja
did you get this problem sorted?
my rear door keeps playing up. It won't lock and the window will only work if you disconnect and reconnect the wiring then will stop working about 10miniyes later on both switches. The wiring in the rear door is fine as it has power. Is there anyway to tell if it is the drivers door at fault like yours?
Thanks

Had this problem for a while, rear doors don't unlock from outside, sometimes even worse, they won't unlock from either side. From what I've found its a problem in the front door, to temporarily fix the issue, I've found winding both the windows all the way down until they stop, then wind them down again and they should drop even more. Voila the door will unlock from the inside at the very least. Need someone who understands the wiring more than me to explain but basically the front door is the master and the rest are slaves, the problem stems from the front door and not the rear, at least in some cases

I had an issue in the past turned out to be an issue with the lock not being oiled enough, checked with an obd reader and sometimes would flag up as implausible signal and would be very intermittent. Did the fix of drilling a hole into each of them and adding a lot of oil, after a couple of days no more issues. Haven't had a single issue since, been 2 years now.

Shame the locks on our cars are so temperamental, hope you end up getting it sorted.
