I recently had my Ibiza Sport PD100 remapped and have began to notice a problem.

When I'm really pushing the car I will lose almost all power, as if the turbo has packed up. The only way to solve the issue is to restart the engine.

I'm sure that when this happens the turbo isn't spooling as I can no longer hear it.

It's happening more now than ever, could something be over heating? There are no warning lights the engine temp never goes over 90 DC.

My car is 12 months only with 14500 miles on the clock and is not sure a service for another 5500 miles.

Thanks for your help.

Yes that means it's dropping into limp mode.

You'd nead to read the fault codes off to see the cause, most likely under- or over- boosting I'd guess.

Sounds like it could be going into Limp mode but I would expect a warning light to come up

Nope, not always, if it keeps doing it then sooner or later Id hope it would, but as im a expert on limp moded TDi's I can safley say YES it is indeed limp mode and NO the engine light wont always come on!

Who remapped the car out of interest? Seems like that will be cause of the problem, if its only being doing it since then, might be requesting more boost than the turbo likes, and limping it to save the turbo rather than melting it at a guess?

Id say take it back to the mapping company and have words, tell them to run some logs with the map on, and see if anything might causing the problem, if it isnt, tell them to turn it off, if it still happens take it your local dealer and get them to fix what ever problem it might be, if it doesnt happen any more, get your money back and go to another company for your remap :)

<EDIT> What muddy said, but with me naff in it! <EDIT>

Sound advice, most likely overboost.

Also check VNT actuator rod moves smoothly (sticky vanes) and the n75 has no obstructions or kinked tubing.
