Hi all,

Im (hopefully) about to become the owner of a 2008 SEAT Leon that is being imported from the UK. I have read all of the scams that can happen so I know what to look for. As i have never owned a SEAT Leon could people advise where on the car I can find the VIN numbers so that I can crosscheck with the documents?

Any other mechanical/interior issues specific to the Leon i should look for? it is a 1.9 TDI Stylance with 24000 miles.

Cheers

Hi and Welcome!

You can find the VIN on the passenger side of the front windscreen, under the boot liner in the boot and on the Service handbook as well.
Hope this helps.

As well as in these places it's also in the usual place aswell (well on my model anyway);

Under the bonnet (on both sides) - embossed into the bodywork on the drivers side and on a black sticky plate on the passengers side.

Note that the one under the boot liner and the one in the service book at just standard white sticky labels and are easily removed (That's not to say the car is not genuine if it does not have these)

Cheers gents, is there any other mechanical/interior things i should look for? From some posts there seems to be a problem with the turbos sooting up.
