hi all, i just got a leon cupra and found this site (very helpfull) and have a few questions if anyone can help.

1, i would like a bit more power and have been looking at the stage 1 revo remap as i am not wanting to add an exhaust, induction and other items to keep the insurance costs down, is the stage 1 ok by itself or would i need a panel filter and dump valve?

2, does the stage 1 make the cupra as quick off the mark as a standard cupra r?

3, which companies are good for cupra insurance as it has just taken over my smart roadster policy and the company i use for that will not be competitive come renewal time?

Hi mate,

Welcome to SCN.

Best bet is to do some searching of the leon mk1 forum as you'll find 100's, if not 1000's of threads with similar questions and answers in.

www.revotechnik.com will show you that your std power is 180 (at the flywheel) and revo stg1 will give you 207 at the flywheel. These are approx figures, depending on age/condition of your car and components etc. You don't HAVE to have any mods for stage 1, but you'll find you will need them in the future - the standard DV just won't take the extra boost from the remap. Panel filter is recommended as well, if not CAI kit or similar, but again, not needed. You just won't get the most out of your car and remap.

A standard cupra R (newest version) is 225bhp, so it may still pip you to the post, although it is a slightly heavier car.

As for insurance it boils down to age/location/NCB etc. Adrian Flux, Noel Dazely, Elephant etc all cover modified cars.

yes the revo stage 1 map is ok with a standard car. as this is whats its designed for.

alot of people upgrade the DV to a forger 007p or other similair ones as the standard dv is known to fail and the remap will increase the chances of this failing.

in my opinion a stage 1 remapped leon cupra is about the same as a stock LCR. or just a tad slower.
