Hi All!

Just picked up a 2015 SEAT León ST Technology w/48k on it. Also have a VW Golf S from 2011 with 151k on it.

I've built up quite a knowledge base of both the EA211 and EA111 1.2 L TSI engines (CYVB for the EA211 in the SEAT and CBZB for the EA111 in the Golf). Both cars also have the 6-speed 0AJ MQ200 gearbox ... LHY code in the Golf, not sure in the seat.

I have 151k on the chain-driven CBZB, which I believe was also offered in the SEAT and I've had to replace the entire transaxle in the Golf due to a sheared bolt-head in the differential, so I have some experience with the 6-speed 0AJ as well.

Anyways, I wanted to read around here and thought I'd make an account as well :D

Cheers!

Hi I have a see Leon 1.2 TSI DSG 2014.
Just reached 100k miles. It has full service history, drives faultlessly; powerful no hesitation. However i have the dreaded oil consumption; in particular motorway journeys where it’s more discernible.

A 300 mile round trip can see a drop of a litre. It’s mind boggling because there’s no visible leaks, no blue or white smoke from exhaust, or any oil residue in exhaust ? I’ve topped up with 5W/40 so I am using to right Oii grade.

Any guidance would be appreciated,

oil breather location ? Try that first or any other suggestions ?

Isn't the correct grade of oil for the 1.2tsi engine 5W30 or 0W20. 5W40 would be extra viscous (thick) ?

I have seen an online report that the 1.2tsi starts to use oil at around 60k miles when the oil holes in the piston/control ring become blocked. I can't verify this though ? Maybe using an overly viscous oil is a contributory factor to your oil consumption issue.

I have always used Mobil 1 esp 5W30 without any issues.
