Quick one for the LCR boys.....

Hi guys,

I am not a Seat owner but have a similar car.

How she is now:

vRS Spiders 7x17 et38 + 5mm spacers

My plans are to take the best bits from all the mk4 Golf platform cars and put them into my vRS as the vRS imo is the best looking and most practical, the only thing I need now is to swap the AUQ engine and the 5 speed gearbox to the BAM and gearbox out of the LCR. but till then the Quaiffe box and remap will do.

Right on to my question. I have the LCR brembos on my car and the spiders dont go over them without 5mm spacers which makes the car really twitchy and naff to drive. I also have some TD Pro Race 1.2 that need 3mm spacers.

I then got some LCR rims so I dont need spacers and its really nice to drive but I cant stand the look of them on the octavia, they are stunning on the LCR but dont seem to suit the vRS so I was thinking of getting the Golf R32 rims that are the same as the LCR 7.5x18 et38?

What I need to know is do they fit without spacers?

Did you ever run the spiders with 5mm spacers all round, or just on the front? Front only will deffo make it more lively/twitchy, but putting the same size of spacer all round keeps the difference in the track between front and rear the same, and keep a more normal handling feel.

Couldn't tell you about the R32 wheels, are you meaning mk4 R32 or mk6? Mk6 ones deffo fit over Brembos with no spacers, Phillc has them on his LC

I imagine he means MK4 as MK5 R32 wheels are 5x112 have a higher offset and would need adaptors to fit, unless they're replicas of course.


Must keep an eye out for a mk6 R32...

Early morning typo strikes again - and I've remembered Phil's are replica Mk5 wheels too.

The mk4 R32 wheels fit over Porker Cayenne 6-pots in an ECS kit, so a fair possibility they'd clear the Brembos?

**cancel that, you need 10mm spacers to clear the calipers! (talking Cayenne calipers)

This thread appears to show a prototype R32 from 2001 with brembos under the 18s? No mention of spacers though...

Reps are usually ET35 yeah? So proper R32 wheels with ET38 will need at least a 3mm spacer?

I think the mk1 LC/R are the best looking out of the mk4 golf platform cars but hey ho......

im sure you will need some spacing on there, reason being although the size and et etc are the same the LCR wheel was made to fit the the brembos, the spokes are curved so they wrap around the calipers...
reps are nearly always a little more than what they say they are though i have found

IMO those lcr rims look much better on the vrs than the others. With those pro race alloys you won't be able to see the brembos as clear.

The Wipers are mk4 Aero Arms and blades, get them from TPS and off ebay. Look a lot nicer and less wind noise.

I am gonna clean the TDs up and sell them so they are out, it sounds like Ill just have to get the LCRs done up and get on with it, they are starting to grow on me tho.

or shadow.........deffo keep the LCR rims though.........look as good on the VRS as they do on the LCR

Would still like to see if the fit tho.

Gonna try put 5mm spacers on the rear too to see if that makes the drive any better with the Spiders.

I like them a lot, but £60 for wipers I can't justify

yea I know its a lot, I managed to pick up a set off ebay a few year ago for £25. when I got another set on another vRS I had to buy for certain parts I sold mine and kept the brand new ones that were on it and got £60+ for the ones I got for 25 lol. I just let them g on ebay.

They are like rocking horse poo tho.

As stated space the rears the same, I'm running 13mm spacers on the rear and it's fine.
