Racing Rivals, the new six-part series which goes behind-the-scenes of the 2007 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, will begin on Channel 4 this weekend.

Produced for television by 4D Productions and presented by BBC Radio’s Nemone, the first 30 minute episode will be broadcast this Sunday morning (7th October) at 7.30am – and the five other episodes will be broadcast every Sunday morning after that. The programmes will also be repeated on Channel 4 – so check TV listings for details.

Satellite and cable channel Bravo will also broadcast Racing Rivals. The first programme goes out on Saturday 13th October at 16:00, and will be scheduled alongside Monster Jam as part of a special ‘Petrol Hour’.

In addition to following the goings-on in the BTCC paddock, Racing Rivals have profiled some of the top drivers – and filmed Darren Turner testing the P1 Powerboat on the Solent and Jason Plato doing his weekly radio feature in the talkSport studio.

Do not confuse this with the old Racing Rivals series on the Cupra Championship, this is all new and about this seasons BTCC.

Can't wait!

Is it too much to hope that not only is the BTCC due to get exposure from this but SEATSport UK are also due to get exposure from this?

I certainly WOULDN'T rule out the possibility that the show may have played a part in us suddenly get some new members in the event of it happening. And indeed other touring car messageboards.

Very poor show. Not a patch on the old Racing Rivals shows from the SCC days, which were made by the same people. Just not enough time in 25 mins to show 6 races very briefly and see behind the scenes.

PISS poor I would say. Especially the commentary. We got to hear from people not normally interviewed like Piers Phillips and Ashley Blenkhorn but precious little ese. We didn't get to see that much - if anything - behind the scenes. No exclusives. And we weren't told stuff we didn't know already.

This deffo was more for the neutral who perhaps wants to get into it.
