Rad fans not working at all

Hello there, got a 2001 leon cupra, fans do not work at all, the air con doesnt kick in so the fans not working with a/c and they dont kick in at a high temp either, so the car is overheating. Fuses all o.k, fans spin up when i give them a feed. Have even tried a new fan controll unit and now starting to test wires, so far the ones tested are ok.. but are there any known problems that I should look for next? any help would be great, thanks peeps
p.s the air con compresser also works with a feed and the water pump is ok so coolant flowing properly...

What speed do the fans spin up and with a feed?
Does it seem fast?

i had this problem too,

only when i had the a/c at full speed the fans would also go in full speed al the other things below that they dont work even when my car was overheating when stuck in traffic...


they replaced both fans on my car under guarantee and now they work like a charm !

The fuses on top of the battery ok too?

Apparently is common for the fans to pack up. Mine has the A/C fan not working and keeps blowing the fuse. Seat have told me I need two new fans, in region of £465 for them to supply and fit them. I'll be doing mine myself!

Sorry to hi jack the thread, so the two fans on the back of the rad aren't both cooling fans then? One is for cooling the other for air con. Is that right?

Yeah that's right. One is just an air con fan, the other cuts in and out for engine cooling and also cuts in as soon as the air con is switched on so that you can get colder air con.
