So pretty sure my ECU is dead. When I try to start her all the warning lights just flick on/off.

Immobiliser?
Battery lost its juice?
Corroded earth connection on battery?
Corroded earth connection to the chassis?

I would check those first, then if no joy you need it plugged in fella.

Has this just happened out the blue? What makes you suspect ECU?
Good luck.

Ok so it looks like it was the Battery. I have never heard the alternator click when the battery is completely dead. The only reason I freaked was everything went tits up when I had the Vag Com in and was showing a Can Bus failure.

Thought I had done something to the ECU. Will get a battery tomorrow.

Thanks guys.

I thought I had buggered the dreaded bsi unit on my Pug but it turned out the battery had dropped just enought to make everything go mental. It wouldnt come back so I think I grabbed a nice bosh from eurocarparts.
