Hello all, just picked up a 60 plate 2.0FR 170CR and loving it... filled her up with fuel the other night and was surprised to see an estimated range of only 390 miles, on my previous 08 2.0 140PD the range was more like 550 and I pretty much got that.

Is this just range taking the mic or is there really that much difference?? What are sort of MPG are you guys getting?

Depends how you drove it prior to filling it up. The range is estimated on an average, a portion of the previous consumption is taken. Can't remember the figure but think its about an hour. So if you ragged it prior to filling it, it assumes you are going to drive likewise after filling and bases range on that. As you drive - assuming you are not ragging it - you should see the range increase.

Filled mine to the brim & it was showing a range of 410 miles I did a 180mile round trip and my range @ 3/4 full is showing 370 miles left In the tank.happy days!!! I averaged 50 mpg

when i brim it, it'll show 400 odds, after a bit of motorway driving it'll go up over 500. brimmed it earlier this week, i've done 340 odd miles, still showing a predicted range of 205.

£69 to brim mine, normally get a little over 400miles per tank, mainly town driving though.

Best I've ever managed is 535 miles. Never seen less than 460 miles. Mixed motoring town land motorway. FR CR 170 mk2 facelift.

thanks for your input guys. Only had the car a few weeks so i'm really hoping I will get more then the range is indicating as 390 miles for £65 of fuel isn't great. Will let you know when I next fill up!

That's not bad if you're only doing city driving. On my commute I get between 40 and 50 mpg depending on traffic, but on long motorway journeys I've had 75mpg but I was doing 50 behind a lorry all the way and it was mind numbingly boring.

In my old car (Kia 2.0CRDI 140) when filling it up it would never read much more than 400. Even if I had driven like a saint before, it assumed I was going to drive it like I stole it after filling up. Used to get around 550-600 mixed driving from that. I wouldn't place much weight on the miles to empty untill the tank is nearer empty. It is more accurate then!

Just to put things into perspective, I drove at 60 (actual gps 56) mph all the way back from Brighton and peaked at 38.4mpg. This would have given me a theoretical range of about 470miles (If I had stayed awake long enough!) I did have 2 passengers and luggage though.

From empty to brimmed it costs me around £76 and I do 30% motorway driving and the rest town. I see about 470-500 from a full tank but mpg wise it rarely gets above 41.

When I fill mine (approx £68 from empty) the range normally shows 520 miles.

I usually end up getting 470-480 with my mixed driving, slightly more if it's mostly motorway.

Mine is the 2.0 170 and costs around £70 to brim, best I've had is 485 to the fuel light came on, and worst I've had is about 380, was ragging it a bit on that second tank mind.

Hi, I have a 2.0 tdi ref sport, and think that my mpg is too low. Its the first diesel ive had and usually costs me 70 to fill up from the fuel light, however I am only getting 420 miles to this which is only 36mpg. The screen normally reads a couple higher but is obviously out. Most of my driving is A roads so equivalent to motorways however this is normally no more than 10 miles at a time. what are your thoughts?

Short jouneys don't help I do mostly motorway miles and regularly get 600+ from a full tak down to fuel light
Very happy at that and I am remapped too
