I have a very annoying ticking rattle coming from the passenger side of the dashboard, subjectively heard like it's coming from above the glove box. It happens even if the glovebox is completely empty.

I remember that someone wrote about rattles coming from this area, but I can't find the post.

Anyone had this?

Maybe the air vent above it? Mine had a slight rattle but I just pushed the flaps and it stopped.

It's probably not the air vent since the noise doesn't come from a specific point. It might be the airbag, but I have no idea how to verify it.

Mine had 2 rattles, one was the vent wich was easily fixed by pushing on it and the other was the corner of the dash and windscreen, I pushed with my fingers hard on that corner and something clicked....rattle stopped!

mine was also corner of dash and windscreen

I had the same rattle/noise coming from there on the passenger side. Car was in for its first service the other day and the service manage came out for a drive with me to identify where the rattle was. Seems the same as the other guys on here....was in the corner where the dash meets the pillar trim. If he pushed on it as I was driving it stopped. Anyway, they sorted it for me so im chuffed.....

Out of interest, what garage was it? I see you're in Glasgow.

I'm literally just back from Livingstone's in Uddingston after taking it in for a rattle coming from the passenger side of the dash. They took out the A-pillar instead of the dash and added some packing but I'm not sure it's stopped it entirely.

I've pressed on the dashboard seal (I guess it was opened and closed when I had a rear camera installed) and for now it seems to do the trick.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

It was Livingstone's. Always had good service from them...I don't do Arnold Clark !

Hi, I have a Leon ST and I have had it for about 6 weeks from new with less than 2000 miles and recently noticed I have a rattle coming from the passenger side. It seems to get louder when I accelerate. How do you know if it is the dash against the window and where to push it in?

I have this exact same problem although it's very intermittent in that some days it's constant and others it doesn't happen at all. I'll need to have a look at the dash/windscreen area and see if anything's loose then.

My dealer is also W Livingstone so if they've already had a couple of people in about it I might give them a ring.
