Rattle sorted!

Hello everyone,

Finally today I have sorted out a rattle that had been bugging me since I bought the car 2 weeks ago.

The noise was eminating from the rear of the car, which I searched for on the forum but to no avail. It sounds like a light metalic flapping, only at low speeds over bumps.
Today I was looking under the car and just buy chance jiggled the exhaust. Eureka! I recognised the noise straight away and tracked it down to a rubber washer that was not pushed on properly.

After a quick 5 mins under the car I took her for a test drive, and woohoo!! no more rattle, not a peep.

Its in the middle section of the exhaust on the left hand side of the car at an s bend, if you gently jiggle the back box you can hear it rattle.

Hope this helps anyone who has tried all the other rattle solutions but had no joy.

Thanks and sorry for the length of the post.

Oh mate I wish! I have to commute to work on the tube, so I only get to drive her on weekends and a little in the week.

I have to find excuses to drive nowadays, like 'just checking the rattle has not come back, or just gonna get some milk, even though we already have a gallon in the fridge!
