I managed to get the fob and got the key cut. Mine didn't come with a circuit board for the keys so I did a bit of d.i.y and adapted the board from my original key.
Problem I'm having is when I bought the car I only got 1 key (the remote one) and saw through YouTube in order to program it you need the spare key.
I tried to program it without but because the transponder is no longer in the original key, it will only go as far as ignition. Of I try to start it, it just conks out.
I went to the dealers this morning to see if they'd sting me as much as I thought they would. They informed me that it would be £45 diagnostics fee and £120 for the key and recode :-/ if it just needs the recode the price will be covered by the diagnostics fee.
I wondered what would be the case if I just bought a spare key and transponder to do the process but after buying a key transponder and cutting the key it would probably equate to about 30-40 on top of the original 20 I spent on the fob case and getting the key cut.
Any suggestions? As now I just have a fancy flip key with no joy of being able to use the central locking...
Going to upload pics of my car as well from how I bought it to now with the small mods I've done so far.
