rcd510 dab install

Hi Guys,

Looking at installing a RCD510 unit into my mk2 leon. I have a windscreen ariel and are unsure where i should insert it in th back on the unit. is there any pictures showing what connectors are for on the back?

The dab aerial input is the single black coloured fakra input above the dual antenna input on the left hand side of the unit.

hot 2 problems while trying to install the rcd 510 unit.

1: Where do I route the windscreen Ariel wiring from the back of the unit to the screen?

2. The RCD unit doesn't physically fit into the hole in the dash. It seems that the memory card area of the unit clashes with the dash moldings, and I cant get it past. Do i need to cut a section out?

Hi

1. You need to remove the a pillar on the passenger side, the small plastic door on the side of the dash as well as the glovebox. Once these are removed you can feed the wire from the windscreen to the back of the head unit.

2. You need to cut out the plastic which catches on the bottom of the rcd510.

how do you remove all the trims and glovebox. Is there a guide anywhere?

The A pillar is held on with 2-3 clips. I found it easier to start pulling at the to of the pillar and working my way down towards the windscreen. The glove box is held in by several screws, iirc 7 or so screws hold the glove box in 5 at the top and 2 underneath the glove box. The side panel just pulls out as well.
