RCD510 queries

Hi All,

I have just purchased an RCD510 (DAB), and I have a few questions.

I already have a Parrot bluetooth installed, so the Parrot ISO block connects to the rcd510. I did not need to add a 12v wire to the safe pin as the ISO was already populated. Once i powered the unit on the VW splash screen loaded, but after a restart the Seat Media splash screen loaded. However the splash screen looked very distorted compared to the VW image, could this image be corrupted on the unit?

My second question is; the rcd510 will only power on when I have the key in the ignition at point 1 or 2. Is this normal, or is the wiring in the Parrot ISO causing this?

Thanks

Rich

I have also been trying to figure out what pin I need to change to get the aux input (3.5mm input jack) working on the rcd510. Below are the pics of the quad block terminals, but i cannot work out on the old system which one the aux is.

Just wondered did anyone ever get to the bottom of this? Thinking of swapping the unit in my Leon next month.

Hi,

I did get the aux working by moving two pins (purple/white) to the aux l/r on the quad lock. However, I currently don't have the RCD510 installed as it was causing battery drain due to a upgraded can gateway needed. If you are after one let me know.

Sounds good. I'm thinking of buying either one of these or an RNS 310 next month. How much would you be after for yours?

A bit late but I have just done almost exactly the same (no Parrot). Fitted a RCD510 Premium 8 DAB to my 2008 Leon FR550. I did have to wire in the code pin but I had to select "SEAT Alhambra" in VCDS when I was looking at the coding to get it to display the SEAT screen at bootup. The Alhambra option was the only SEAT one!

I too get the strange SEAT display. It looks like some of the colours are missing, almost like when you reduced a 16 bit image down to 8 bit on a PC years ago.

For the life of me I cant get it to look decent so I might just switch it back to the VW if possible.
