Easy DIY mate :D

Open boot, look in the boot handles (inside the car) for 2 screws, remove them and pull hard on the trim. It should pop off.

Then you will be able to see the boot handle assembly, with 6 nuts on show. Remove these, and unclip the sensor connected to the handle and the whole handle assembly will come out.

You then have to remove the silver 'pin' that holds the whole assembly together. You do this by getting a small punch and gently tapping it with a hammer. Once the pin is removed, you will be able to split the different parts of the assembly, with one of the pieces being the badge on its own. Like this:

*Make sure you remember how the assembly went together though, otherwise you wont be able to open/close your boot!*

WOW thats awesome!!! I really wanna put a transformers symbol there......

hwo do you do the transformers symbol ? is it sometime of sticker tht goes over it ? or do you have to do a spray job on it? cheers alan

nahhh think you buy something off ebay like a plastic thing! have a look

if this has only been here a little before, then i would not have to figure it myself when i was trying to have my badge match the car colour, i.e. from chrome to black.

further to yours, if anyone wants to paint the letter "s" and is afraid the paint would peel off the chromed surface - it is better to remove chrome altogether, which is quite easy.
you just have to get it to start peeling somewhere in the back, and them it comes of relatively easy all the way around, revealing pure white/yellowish plastic, which is then easy to paint with any plastic paint to matt or shiny effect.

I think i'll try doing it with the assembly still together, i'll take the S badge out of the boot but will try doing it without stripping it right down...i re-did my front badge this morning theres some deep recesses on the front badge but after a lot of heat and pulling+tucking into the recesses i managed to get it looking OEM.

i burnt my fingers a bit thou..ha ha..

This is a great help to me as in the process of removing mine at the moment.

Love the camo effect on your badge, how did you do that? Is it sprayed?
How well does paint stick to these badges with them having the chrome effect on?
Presume a lot of prep/sanding is required to remove this?

Well i wrapped my rear seat boot handle this afternoon..

i ended up stripping the badge off completely, as per the instruction remove the two VERY VERY tight screws pull hard, gulp it feels like its going to break, undo the 6 nuts + 2 plugs and out pops the boot handle...

i then knocked out the pin, mine was very rusty and got ( finally just the S badge in my hand )

Its quite hard to wrap as you have to be careful how much wrap you use as to much around the sides of the S and you'll find the S snags as you fit it back together and does open up properly..

i dont think my will last all winter, i mite have to strip it back out and do it again....joy!!!!!
