Rear discs

I need to change the rear discs on my Leon but can't seem to get the pad carrier bolts undone! The pad carrier is held on by two 14mm (IIRC) spline bolts but I just can't shift them. I've had it up on the ramps to try and use a long bar, no room for an air gun, WD40, etc. Has anyone change the rear discs on there's yet and did you have problems getting the bolts undone? Any suggestions?

Dave.

I recall my rear callipers being stuck on fast as I couldn't remove the discs like I could with the front ones to paint around centre hubs so painted them in situe.
If it's any consolation I also tried a long bar to try to free them.
Gave up in the end so I will be in the same boat when rear discs need replacing.Probably change the car before that happens though.

Also I'm sure on the main bolts on mine were standard allen key fittings.

Yeah, this is what is needed IIRC:

Rear callipers - 13 and 15mm spanners
Rear carriers - M14 spline (triple square) bit

Front callipers - 7mm allen
Front carriers (not checked, just read!) - 21mm socket

On my fr tdi the rear callipers would have needed removing if I wanted the rear discs off.The front discs have enough room to slide them out though. Both front and rear pads can be removed by removing the pad carriers only.
There are pad carriers and calliper mounts on each brake. The calliper mounting is the main piece holding all the brake on{THIS PIECE IS THE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE PART TO GET OFF] and the pad mounting only holds the pads onto the calliper mounting.
HOPE THATS CLEAR ENOUGH GUYS.
