i have a rear end problem, my rear drivers side wheel rub on the arch, now, i have 17 inch wheels with 205/40 zr17 tyre size i have had a look and i cant find out why it rubs:confused: i measered from the top of the tyre to the arch and on the rubbing side it is an inch lower than the good side but all the shocks are standard, it just doesnt add up:confused: can anyone help??? has anyone got any ideas?? please help

i dont think the spring is broken, but thats something i can check, someone did tell me that there is a possibility that the axle may be bent or maybe even the hub would that make a difference??? on the rubbing side there doesnt seem to be much room between the tyre and the start and finish of the arch almost like the wheel is too big  but the other side is all the same size wheel and tyre  any idea???

yeah... my idea is the spring is broken :) that or the damper / top mount is falling about

if the rear beam was bent you'd have known about it... let me know if you have though (I've got a spare that's going in the skip)

i do want to get a new beam i want to put a cupra/GTi beam on it with the disc brakes, is it a good idea?? and is it a straight swap?? also you are in northhampton thats quite a distance lol thanks for the offer anyway, the top mount seems to be fine i might change the spring and see if it works
