Rear passenger door

Finally fixed both doors

Just to give everyone an update on this issue...

Which by the way got much worse. *

The rear passanger door would not lock , lights would only flash when the deadlocks operated (double press on the fob), unfortunatly then I would only be able to unlock the door by pushing the locking rod inside the door... this was alot of fun as you can imagine... although the puddle light did work. Therefore the door knew it was opened or closed.*

To add to this problem my drivers door didn't know if the door was open or not which gave me loads of interesting alarm issues...like sitting in the car just about to drive off and the bloody alarm starts going off. *:wtf:

First plan of attach was to strip the doors and re-solder the circuit board in the door lock module....yeah that didn't work. Basically the connecting pins in the drivers side had corroded to nothing... I am amazed the door locked at all.
The pins in the rear passenger module looked fine... so back to the drawing board on that one.

Second plan was not to buy a new module for the drivers door....at £130 (its a rip off but there was no other way round this issue). Anyway fitted the new module and ... problem solved light now working and no more alarm issues.

Onto the rear passenger door, I was feeling up beat after fixing the drivers door, I had a thought as the puddle light on the rear door was working, that part of the module must be working. I felt it was more of a mechanical issue... so I stripped the rear door down again (which if you have done it ....you know it sucks), took the module to bits had another think... decided to replace the motor from the old drivers door module and fit it into this one.....

It worked, locks unlocks with no problems at all.... so if you are having issues with your door lock modules hopefully this might help.

All I can say is what a nightmare but as always very rewarding when you figure it out.:D

I've got this problem with my rear drivers side door. I go to unlock it and sometimes it unlocks other it just stays locked. It opens fine from the inside handle so I'm thinking it;s the door lock module.

Have you got a part number for this as I'm going to replace it or alternatively will the dealer know what i@m after if i just ask for a door lock module?

cheers

cmc,
Sorry for the delay, hectic at work. Good to be busy though.

Anyway, before buying a new door lock module have you tried taking it out and having a look at the connections? My drivers door module was pretty corroded inside.

I suppose it's only if you want to be bothered with taking it to bits and trying to resolder the pin connections. Alternatively just give the dealers a call and get the new door lock module. It aint cheep though. Approximately £120.... Ouch

Sorry don't have the part no. but they will know the part you need, classed as lock, just describe it to them.

Have you stripped the door down Inc the inner metal panel, oh and watch the fixing for the rear window. There are a few guides about that should help, if you need any help just give me shout.

Good luck man, it is a pain of a job.
