Rear Shock Absorbers - Leon FR 64 Reg

Hello folks, recently had my rear shockers replaced on my 7 year old Leon FR ( 92k miles) only since then, i have had an annoying rattle from the rear, probably nearside. Back to the local garage 4 times. At first they said it could be anti roll bar bushes but eventually they said it was the rear NS shocker they had just renewed so replaced it again, apparently. Knocking rattle is still there. you hear it on undulating minor roads / residential type estates, not on motorways / high speed roads ( not certain if its a metal or plastic type rattle, sounds like trim tapping against the underside of the car) - just to reiterate, its only happened after the rear shockers were changed. Any ideas and suggestions please?

Is everything tight? I know the rear shocks screw into a cast aluminium cradle type thing that then bolts to the car so maybe something's loose? Mine are due any day now so I'll check for any possible knocking noise candidates when I fit them.

Check if the dust covers and/or bump stops are loose. They should be secured into the top mounts.

They make a surprising amount of noise if they're loose.

Not sure what stops the suspension dropping down further once a shock absorber is removed but if they didn't disconnect the headlamp level sensor then I would expect that to be broken, and that is on the L/H/R suspension arm, assuming you have LED headlights that is.
