Gents
as a new poster to this thread I have had nearly all of the problems that everyone else seems to have had with their Altea.;)
I have had the car for 5 years now from 4000 miles to 49000 miles now.
My latest problem isn't a mechanical failure but my wife reversed into our wheelie bin. The bin jammed against our house leaving a large dent in the tailgate below the window.

I would like to know how I remove the inner liner of the tailgate in the hope that I could push/tap the dent out.

Does anyone know the best way to remove the tailgate inner liner?

Thanks:)

Hi, the interior lining of the hatch is actually very easy to remove. You simply need to open the hatch and try to gently prise the lining off. But first there is a screw in the recess of the grab handle inside the hatch that needs taking out. Then you just need to unclip the lining. I found it easier to start on one of the lower corners and gently work my way around. You might get your fingers pinched, but the lining is only held by metal clips. If you are gentle enough they should not break and therefore allow you to replace the lining easily when you're done. All you need to do is line up the clips and press in, not forgetting to finally put tIe screw back inside the grab handle.
Good luck for popping back the panel,

Boosh.
