Rear View Mirror

Random question...has anyone else who owns a Terramar noticed that they need to adjust the rear view mirror every 24 hours or so? I'm finding that it moves (pointing down slightly) gradually, which can even be when the car is left parked overnight or longer, so it's not as though the bumps/vibrations whilst driving are causing it to move. It's almost as though there isn't enough tension in the ball joint (I assume that's what it has) that the rear view mirror sits on.

I have been out in the car a few times since I read your post on Monday, and I can say that my rear view mirror has not moved in this time.

Yes especially after listening to the radio loud it drops quite quickly.

My Terramar was back at the dealer for some warranty work, so I mentioned this problem with the rear view mirror to them on the off chance they could do anything to adjust the tension on it. They said that wasn't possible, but they'd need the car in for a couple of days, so they could drive it around and then leave it standing for a period of time whilst measuring the distance of any movements in the mirror during this time to determine if it fell outside of acceptable limits for movement before replacing the rear view mirror. I know its a hard one to diagnose, but that felt like overkill to me, so I declined the offer for the time being.

Sounds awfully like a way to fob you off tbh! ;)

I confirm this, I need an adjustment every week, and when it's warmer it seems to be needed more often.

What are acceptable limits for movement?
