Reasons for whistling around windscreen.

As the title suggests, I've got a whistling noise coming from somewhere around the windscreen. It's a noise that only kicks in around 40mph. I know people have had issues like this in the past, but mine has nothing to do with the wipers or the wingmirrors, I've already sought to rule these out.

Has anyone had any similar issues that were maybe caused by trim around the sides of the windscreen? It's driving me menthol. I'm on the verge of getting a new screen just to see if it's a dodgy seal.

Cheers!

when my windscreen was replaced the monkey who done it ruined the side trims and i would get unreal wind noise.. once i argued and got it rectified they replaced both trims and walla sweet sweet silence, might be worth whipping them off and making sure all the clips are intact

I think this might be a lazy Sunday look around then. I can't see anything amiss with the clips/trim but I figure if I take it off what's the worst that can happen?!!

Cheers fellas.

I have the same problem.

Something else that might be causing it is when I look under the bonnet at the scuttle tray there is an inch gap either side of the tray, I think this might be causing some extra wind noise too. Haven't had chance to look into taping them up yet to see if it makes a difference though.

A friend of mine had a whistling sound from his windscreen and it turned out that air was passing through the sealant that holds the windscreen in, He had a new windscreen replaced and the bloke who fitted it confirmed this. He ended up putting double the amount of sealant to the windscreen and the whistle noise went..

might be worth taking it to a company that replace windscreens? get it checked out :)

hope this info is of some usefulness lol
