Reception probs with Honda aerial

Hi,

Recently got myself a Honda S2000 aerial off ebay (my first-ever mod woohoo!). Fitted it ok and it looks good, but the radio reception is now really rubbish. Still got the standard Aura HU. Has anyone else noticed poorer radio reception with these aerials or have I been sold a dodgy one?!

Reception with my standard aerial is pretty poor. Got a bit worse when I fitted the small forge aerial.

no difference for us, had the S2000 for about 6 months now.
Looks so much better then the standard one, i'm transferring it to the new car in 2 weeks

I thought it improved the reception a bit for me with the standard aura hu. That might have just been me though...

Mine was good witht he standard Aura cassette headunit but when I swapped to the Aura cd headunit the reception went very bad. I swapped back to the standard ariel for a bit but the reception was still no different (bad). Put the Honda one back on cos I prefer the looks and reception is still no better.

Mine is a genuine Honda ariel as well. Bought it fron my local Honda dealer.

Thanks for the info everyone. Sounds like I shouldn't get worse reception so I've either got a dodgy aerial or I damaged something when I yanked the old aerial out! Might have to put up with it tho, cos I really like the look of the honda aerial.
