Recommended tyres?

Any one give me any advice on which tyres would be the best for a cupra , 225/40/18 , just thought I'd ask before buying , cheers

I usually go for the black and round type, also make sure they've got some tread on them otherwise those boys and girls in blue will get all upset with you....

If you're asking which brands, then you might want to try Kenda, Event, JoyRide, Jinyu, MoHawk's the list goes on.

I have used dunlop sport maxx before and i found them great for the summer.. just seemed to wear quick and didnt grip too well in cold weather...

Also had some sersantas verdestine, i didnt like them seem to spin up too easy

I've just gone with Goodyear performance efficientgrip and so far so good. I've always had PZero's so thought it might give them a go this time, try something different. They feel alright, keep me safe....they're tyres.

I've just gone with Goodyear performance efficientgrip and so far so good. I've always had PZero's so thought it might give them a go this time, try something different. They feel alright, keep me safe....they're tyres.

I've just gotten some efficient grips and find them very good.

I only got my front ones last week. I'm going to get the same for the back next pay day. They're very well priced and surprisingly, on paper anyway, have more advantages over the competition in that price range.

At the end of the day what tire you get can mostly come down to budget. Brands like Joyride etc are at best to stop the @rse of the car from scraping along the ground.

I had the standard efficient grip tyres on my Fiat Bravo and Kia Pro_ceed before and really rated then, but as a low rolling resistance tyre I wasn't sure how well they would do with a bit more grunt put through them?

I reckon I'll be hunting down some Michelin Pilot Supersport next time though.

I'm getting some Prestivo's fitted to the front my Cupra tomorrow. The car came with budgets - can't remember what they were - and, apart from being nearly illegal, they were actually alright. Since then, I've tried Pirelli P Zero Rosso's, which were crap grip in all conditions and didn't last long at all. Then I went for Continental Sport Contact 5's, which had great grip but were loud and not economical, so I'm going for budgets again just to see what they're like. If they're terrible, then I'll replace them and go for some of the suggestions from here.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2s for me. Great in the wet, very good in the dry and I seem to get plenty of wear through them.
The cupra brakes are awesome, why lessen their ability to stop the car with poor rubber?

Ive found them fine generally but they are next to useless in the snow or slush. Crisp cold mornings they shone. Admittedly Ive no experience of a dedicated cold weather tyres to compare

We've got the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance's on our Cupra and they seem really good so far (think they've got about 4k on them now).

I've found the Goodyear Eagle F1 to be great overall and certainly no worse than any other normal tyre in slush/snow
