Refinishing calipers

Trying to strip some chipped paint off some calipers and three hours in I've nearly done one rear one back to bare metal.

Currently using a drill and wire wheel with nitromors
Anyone got any tips to speed this up? As its soul destroying.

Obviously the better you do the prep the better the result will be, however I just cleaned off as much as I could with a brush and then sanded back the surface and then used 3 coats of paint, result looks spot on

If u use a metal brush and as long as it's clean, u can finish it with sandpaper i guess?

All I did was take the wheel off and remove all the gunk with a wire brush. Cleaned them the best I could, sanded them back to get rid of the surface crap until it was all smooth. Then I used 3 coats of enamel paint. I thought the finish would be rough but it's perfectly smooth :) obviously I only painted the bits I could get to but that's all you can see anyway

A angle grinder with a knotted wire brush attachment brings you back to shiny metal in seconds. Its a bit brutal and needs handling with care though.

From this.

To this in about an hour.
