Locate your nearest Revo or APR dealer for a proper R&D based remap rather than going for the cheaper more generic ones. A lot of people also rate the DTUK boxes on here but do your research.

I have the 1.4FR and have seen the revo figures
How does this work with warranty as I have heard dealers can check for remaps now

Would the warranty be straight void on everything?

I've run a superchips map now for over 60k without any problems, they have some dealers in the South East.

One of the only company's I'd use..

Same here, never had any problems with them. Good service from them when my fiesta st wasn't running the latest ford software. They updated that and then rejigged the map.

Personally the 'peak' numbers are purely for top trumps and bragging rights IMO. Most (responsible) tuners will be able to produce roughly the same BHP/torque but it's how the car drives and get's there that will separate them. You still need it be drivable and not overly stress components.

For a diesel I'd prefer the torque band to be made a bit wider so instead of a few hundred revs of grunt and then noise before changing gear, the surge lasts longer and is progressive. Say 1300rpm up to 3500-3700rpm. Which is funnily enough what the v2 Revo map manages to do. So in lower gears it surges forward like a petrol car (sort of) but in the higher gears you can use the torque to pull away from lower revs. For reference the v1 map was pretty underwhelming; all the power was at the top end in higher gears; so that it was only noticeable at license losing speed.

Shark Performance are also meant to be very good and I know Ben who owns the company has a very good reputation over on the Briskoda forum. I was actually going to get my vRS done by him until someone rear ended it [:@]

Google is full of generic bullshit companies, I wouldn't trust them tbh. Best looking on forums, reading actual reviews not those fakes ones you see on websites cos there are a lot dodgy and half arsed companies out there

So... from your experience who would you recommend? I've seen people post about Revo, APR and Celtic tuning which seem to be the most reputable ones. In fact I've just googled them and found this:

Have seen some poor reviews for Celtic, but not the others...yet

There are poor reviews for most people, some more substantiated than others certainly, but ultimately I like to look a reputable tuner recommended by real people for your engine, but also one that is amicable to any problems that may arise with your car which is why I don't recommend the generic crap found on Google.

Many ppl on here know that I use shark performance and have done for 6 years now, they've done all my mapping, servicing and other hardware modifications and the reason why is because I trust them and the people that work there.

But if you just want a map and never plan on seeing your tuner again then you wouldn't go wrong using a big named brand like Apr either.

But it looks like Apr don't care about the 2.0 Tdi lol so you can't use them. Think if you just a map flashing by revo do one for your engine, they released it pretty early on tho so can't comment on how much R&ds gone into it

Just looked on the Audi forum and Elite are not rated very highly there. Had a look at Shark - there's a dealer not far from me that's on their list so will give them a call.

Thanks for chipping in...:)
