Remapped :-)

Hey guys got my car remapped today at chipped uk in bromsgrove!

Well pleased with the results it feels much more pokey,

Standard the car was running at 146bhp with 144.3lbs/ft of torque (114.bhp at the wheels) and boosting to 7psi.

Remapped its now running at 211.1bhp with 229.5lbs/ft of tourque (145.6bhp at the wheels) and boosting to 17psi

very good service down there was speaking to the bloke that owns chipped uk he was very helpful! (had a nice ferrari to lol)

Absolutley love it now totally transformed the car!

wow quite a change in power-increase of 70 odd bhp. Has the remap affected turbo lag at all?

It says in my sig mate, yeah well pleased didnt think i was going to get that much gain

I only asked as thats a huge gain for very little performance mods

get another dyno run. lol... woudlnt trust it mine said 206 bhp on there rollers... on a 'true' rr.. (2 standard Civic Type R's made 196.5, 197.4 bhp) I made...... 166

Dyno run was 6.1s

is that indicative of it's real life performance?

seems a little short for 3rd gear.

if so, then the load is 'light' and the dyno is not worth having.

Well, since a standard CTR should make around 197 bhp, and my 2 mates cars did... seems like a good rr to me

one CTR went on, then me, then another...

There is a very noticable difference in the car which im very happy about it pulls like mad on the mway in 5th! but yeah maybe the rr reading is out

that's the main thing, it's just a shame when companies feel the need to falsify results for marketing (not that I am insinuating that this is what has occurred here in any way)

Just incase he wants to threaten SCN with legal action again.

Not great as you can see... HE has offered for me to go back there again and have it done again... After my exprience with the company though (wont be the same as others im sure) But Jayson wont be laying 1 finger on any of my cars now or in the future (also my mates cars too)

Well my mates got a 106gti with induction kit exhaust de-cat and manifold and he got a reading of 142bhp at chipped uk after remap and we were neck and neck when my car was standard

My mate also had his golf tdi 115bhp done today and got 146bhp and it came out at 112 standard

Fare play if it has worked... just wouldnt read much into 211bhp tbh.

Im with M0rk though, I dont see why compaies feel the need to be over on the RR just to look good. I would rather have an honest remap and an honest RR run! GRRR!

FYI - you got a boost gauge in your car?

70bhp of transmission loss calculated is a lot! You only got 30bhp extra at the wheels but an extra 70 from the engine?
