Remote Engine Start?

Seen this for sale on e-bay, for the features it claims to have seems very cheap. Especially the remote start would be very handy while the secondary air pump does its thing, or in winter times to get her warm. Can't help but feel theres a hidden catch somewhere... i.e. impossibly hard to fit or won't work with vag-com etc. Can anyone shed any light on this situation...

on previous threads that come up every winter, you can but its not recommended to have a car running on drive/road in case it should do something bad like drive or get nicked (insurance would laugh)
paper reports say people have been nicked by plod as its not allowed

Unless your key transponder gets scanned (ie key is next to the ignition barrel) the immobilizer wont let the engine run. Disabling the immobilizer to enable remote start isn't really worth the risk IMO.

I used to have remote start on my Corrado, it was ace.

If you going to do it have a toad or Clifford alarm and engine start put in with anti hijack so no one can drive off without the key being in
