I’ve been looking into the intake system on my Ibiza 1.0 EcoTSI (KJ/6F platform) and noticed the part 5Q0129668F sitting right under the air filter inside the airbox. From what I understand, this piece is basically a resonator / silencer that smooths out airflow pulses and reduces intake noise.
I’m curious about the effect of removing it completely while keeping the rest of the intake stock (no straight pipe, no aftermarket filter – just leaving it out and running the filter as usual).
Has anyone here tried this on their Ibiza, Polo, Arona or other MQB-A0 cars?
