You lift the bonnet and remove the black/grey plastic that runs across the top of the grille between the headlights. There are about 6 (or 8) plastic plunger type rivets where you lift the edge before they pull out (can be done easily with your finger nail or small screw driver).

Then pop the spring clips to release it and lift it out. These will be a tight fit and might take some pliers to squeeze them in enough.

Now on top of the grille there is a single screw. Remove that.

You should now be able to pull the centre of that grille section free. It leaves a surround in the bumper as that piece is part of the 3-grille set across the top of the bumper between the lights. On my FR/Cupra honey-comb grille the bonnet latch just needed guiding through the gaps. Nothing had to be removed.

Once out, the badge can be got at from the rear. You will need to melt/cut/drill the lugs and the badge pulls away from the grille from the rear. Be carefull to gently prize the fingers of the grille front from the grooves within the S badge so they don't snap.

When you put it all back in its pretty easy, but you will need to hot-glue or similar the badge into place to secure it.

s3 akr... the LCR front ent the same as the cupra...
you will have 4 clips on the top cover that runs accross the top of the grill, take it off will reveal the grill, a little gentle force and pulling at the bottom of the grill it will pop out, a tug at the top and the grill is out,
but the S is plastic welded in, a drimel or some thing like this is usfull.

thats it, job done
is you have any more wrap left and you have nothing to do..... um let me um know pls...

All I would say is that if you're intending to paint the badge, it looks great until the stone chips get to it. On mine, right in the centre within the first week! I think I'll vinyl wrap it next time!

Bit of a thread bump but just wanted to say thanks for the above instructions. I just had to change my centre grille as some little barstewards had snapped the S badge out. Mine is a Nov 2005 FR with the Cupra R front end.

I didn't need to undo the plastic rivets along the top. All it needed was the small black cover with the clips which came off really easy. Then the grille just popped out with a bit of pulling from the bottom. Needed a good shove to get the new one clipped back in after you feed the bonnet release through the hole though.

Took me all of 5 mins as it was so simple. Grille was £25 from David at Sere Motors.

Cheers all.
