Anyone got any ideas on how to remove the surrounds round the speedo want to spray

mine gloss black and have no idea how to remove them also the surrounds round the air

vents?

any help is appriciated.

thanks
:p

i no the surrounds around the air vents just pop out using a trim tool, ive changed mine to chrome. but i was trying to figure out the ones around the speedo.

yes well thanks for that advice on the air vent trim the stereo trim just pops out as well which makes

me think the speedo ones should and if you pull the circles round the revs and the speed they move

slightly however the peak that over hangs the speedo doesnt seem to move may contact local SEAT

dealer :S

IIRC, someone asked this a while back and the conclusion was that it's plastic welded onto the main bit of the dashboard and to remove it would mean removing it permanantly.

Anyone else remember something similar or am i inventing threads?

I have taken the dial surrounds off.

Start at the bottom near the steering column - pull till the clips release and work you way around each side to the top.

The peak is plastic welded to the dash and can not be removed.

It was that girl with the White boc she more or less removed every bit of trim inside her car and sprayed it White carnt find the rr though

Ohh right im new member so havent seen many previous threads but wanted to spray my trim interior as gloss black but not sure ill do it after finding out that i cant remove the peak on the dials :(

Yep it's true. I broke my dash peak getting it off and it's a major headache to repair (groan). Leave it alone. the clock one does just pull off though, just like the guy said in the previous thread.
Now it's finally fixed, I'll go the vinyl wrap route......what a dumbass!:censored:
That is after the springs are fitted, following the Porsche alloys, or is it Audi ones? Arghhh!

Yeahh i dont fancy breaking it off haha :( what do you think it would look like spraying the dial surrounds black and the air vent surrounds all black shame about the peak! Yours sounds nice mate mines stock at the moment only just picked it up got plans though refurbing alloys black on red car drop it slightly stealth exhaust and induction kit and the standard change of bulbs and leds :p not sure about the dials though black or not? :S

i'm going for a mix and match (parts ordered/ car due in a week or so) - black console, handbrake cover, stereo surround, heater surrounds - aliminium clock surrounds, door handles, steering wheel bits
hope it look ok, has anyone else got the piano black dash kit?

Havent got the piano black kit but spraying my bits black tomorrow ill post when theyre done and upload some photos when its dry should look nice hopefully

should look a lot better :)
the only pic i've seen of the black dash kit looks as though it has 2 white lines down the middle of the stereo surround - not sure what that's supposed to match?

Yeah quite exited about a spraying session tomorrow all black im going going to have to get dust sheets for the peak on the speedo due to it not being able to be removed :( but going to give it a good go gloss black <3

Yes got to do it all gonna mask it up proper gonna be long! And yeahh proper plastic primer got to do a proper job

just pull it backwards , I took my ibiza to the dealer and they do it like that , the mecanism use to keep it tight are just a pairs of clips that surrounds the speedo and the tachometer , I remove it because I wrapped it in 3M dinoc

the centre bit around the stereo and aircon, looks really good in gloss black :)
I sprayed mine, should be on my rr thread if you look :)

Im currently looking to try wire my dashboard lights to always be on when i turn the ignition on, easier then always having my lights on
