Im definetly pulling the cover it does however feel as if the whole engine is going to come out i might borrow a chain block and strop from work and try that lol. Its raining tonight so cant get out to try the hot engine technique. I will post tomorrow if i have success!!

Oh and to comment on the induction kit noise :D

its easier to pull from the top half and then spraying some lub on the bottom clips to make it easier to remove other than that just keep at it ! I need to remove mine soon aswell lol

Its done, finally it came off :D I am sure its due to the engine being hot i pulled no harder than last attempt and it came off with relative ease.

Unfortunately when i tried to fit my induction kit i found the turbo inlet very difficult to remove. There is no way it is coming off without buying the correct tools, sounds obvious when its written down!! So as yet no induction but at least i know how to get the cover off for my next attempt.... which will be after a trip to B&Q for some long nose, long legged, curvy end pliers

Stiff engine covers,

Have had same problem with Tdi Skoda and Tdj Fiat with the covers..
Always need a very hard pull to get them off.

The trick is to give a dollop of WD-40 before refitting..

And no it wont rot the rubber, if its good enough for space shuttles is good enough for me.
